NorthWest Service Dog Alliance (NWSDA) was established in 2017 by Laura Renz, when she turned a painful experience into advocacy. Laura's advocacy came after being accosted and having to retire her second Service Dog, Vinny. When her now third dog "Little" was ambused at a large retailer, She decided this was Enough, if it is happening to me its happening to other services dogs, and this has to stop. This has lead to partnerships with City Council, other local leaders and a passion to make change, leading to the creation NorthWest Service Dog Alliance.
NWSDA organization has successfully mediated 100+ cases, of access situations since their founding. Including helping a local high school student negotiate having her Service Dog with her. NWSDA has provided and continues to consult for business on local laws, regulations and service animal issues.
NWSDA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to Service Dog teams, Service Dogs in Training, businesses and the community. NWSDA helps educate, establish and maintain partnerships to share information about the rights and needs of Service Dog teams.
NWSDA envisions a community, our community, to be one with greater inclusion, opportunity and independence for Service Dog teams by educating about the abilities of those with disabilities.
NWSDA believes in CARES! Consult ~ Advocate ~ Reach ~ Educate ~ Support.
This is our way to “Embark on Change - One dog at a Time!
